DESCRIPTION: Orwashers Bakery opened on Manhattan’s Upper East Side in 1916. For generations, the bakery serviced the local immigrant community with the breads that reflected the traditions of their homeland. In 2007, Keith Cohen purchased the bakery from the Orwasher family and ushered in a new chapter for the business. Since then, Orwashers has worked hard to respect the brand's rich history while incorporating a current point of view. We have partnered with regional farmers for raw materials and are working with local wineries to create our starters. All production takes place in our South Bronx, state-of-the-art commercial baking facility.
